Hollywood liberal, Bollinger bolshevik, choose your favorite pejorative. Turn-ons include film/TV, music, civil rights, architecture, cars, travel, food, gin martinis. Turn-offs include broccoli, bigots and spectacularly awful people like some billionaires who come to mind. He/Him.

Ending period poverty is one of my passions. I talk about it all the time -- both to raise awareness and normalize the topic for men. Doesn't embarrass me, shouldn't embarrass you.

But beyond the stupidity of mocking someone for making sure people who menstruate have access to essential products: If that's the best they've got to attack Tim Walz, it's sure as hell admitting they ain't got much.

Bugger. Just realized I put a relatively new pair of AirPods through the wash. I’m usually good about checking pockets but got absentminded last night.

Both the AirPods and the case seem functional—generally—if a bit wonky. So, I’m trying the rice thing. Whatever was chirping intermittently has stopped. Which could be good or could be bad. We’ll see!

Question! When I first switched to Mastodon a year ago, I tried the Mastodon app and then switched to the Toot! app—which I’m used to and generally fine with without loving it. Is there another app that's considered the best?

Re: that last @auschwitzmuseum boost. I went to Auschwitz almost a quarter century ago on a bitterly cold January day. There I am walking through its vile gate.

Some of the hardest hours I've ever experienced in my life. But also some of the most important. And something you should do if you have the opportunity.

We all broke down in various evidence rooms. For me, it was the piles of luggage with carefully lettered names and addresses. As if this journey were one from which they'd return.

A photo of my from behind at the front gate of Auschwitz with the typical two-story brick building beyond. I'm in a heavy coat and glasses, looking to the side.
