@TwoClownsEating My solution to this is using an Nvidia shield as the 'TV'. They can be had secondhand for not too much, and the earlier versions are fine since the hardware has not been updated massively. The smart TV is just used as a screen, and never gets plugged in to network or wifi access. If you have a TV with HDMI-CEC you can even control the whole thing with your TV's standard remote. No need for additional remotes.
