@hypolite @defcon42 It's a general problem in AP and D* federation but it does seem to be way way worse on private posts. At least with public ones you can go to the original server and see the entire chain if you so desire. I have a potential feature issue for Relatica of doing just that. I call it "greedy fetch" for the issue tracker. I'll have to come up with a more user friendly name if I do implement it. gitlab.com/mysocialportal/rela…

I'm doing experiments with "followers" only sharing. It looks like "followers" only Friendica private posts have the following behavior for comments:
- Friendica users only see other Friendica comments.
- Mastodon users can only see their comment or comments in that chain.
- D* users see all traffic from other D* users.

The D* behavior is what I was expecting for Friendica users but that they'd also see all the traffic from at least Friendica and D* if not all the networks. Is the above behavior expected?

The latest beta of the Relatica mobile and desktop Friendica client (v0.11.0) has just been released. This has some big updates including: better support for Bluesky and Threads content, the ability to limit yourself from sharing/commenting on/liking content from specific networks (like Threads, Diaspora, etc.), spellcheck on mobile platforms, showing network data for all posts/comments and federation delivery status for your posts/comments, and lots of other bugfixes and smaller features. It is in review in the Apple Testflight for iOS and macOS as well as in the Google Play beta system. Downloads for Android, Linux, and Windows are on the install page of the main project. See the CHANGELOG on the project page for more information about this release too.

Friendica users that have been using the Relatica mobile/desktop client, I've added sorting of notifications by type. I want to make sure I see mentions in the sea of likes/reshares. It will be configurable. I'm thinking it should be on by default. Thoughts?

The latest beta of the Relatica mobile and desktop Friendica client, version 0.9.0, has just been released. Along with a slew of small bug fixes and tweaks this release now has a mechanism for viewing, filtering, and exporting the log events generated by the software. This will help users interact with developers (well me right now) in diagnosing problems on their system. This release also has the long requested feature of opening up tag searches on the user's home server not the remote server when they are clicked on. This is available for Apple and Google stores for those in the test program (ping me if you want access) and should have approval in the next 24 hours. Direct downloads for Android, Linux, and Windows are available from the install page.

Poor can't out-satire the NYT and the rest of the supposedly liberal MSM anymore can he? It's beyond pathetic at this point.

How it started/how it's going post by NYT Pitchbot with a post of theirs from 2021 reading:

"Coup, coup, cachoo? Trump is the egg man, the Proud Boys are the egg men. But is Biden the Walrus? by Maureen Dowd"

...and a screenshot of a real headline by Maureen Dowd from the 8/5 NYT with the headline: "Coup-Coup-Ca-Choo, Trump Style"
