Managed hosting doesn't get as much limelight as VPSes, which is a shame as managed hosting opens up this whole area to non-technical people. Sometimes people assume that everyone can use a VPS, but for a lot of people it isn't really sustainable as it requires a commitment to fiddling with the techy stuff behind the scenes when it goes wrong. |

Föderation EN Sa 08.02.2025 21:59:34 @homegrown I love managed hosting, it is where I got my own start. Also not even all developers want to get into the server admin side of things, and that's fine. That said, I prefer VPS myself |

Föderation EN Sa 08.02.2025 22:02:12 Yeah, it's good to have options so you can do the amount of admin work that you feel comfortable with. It's kind of like building your own PC or buying a ready-made one with a warranty, it's nice that both options are available as it makes it easier for everyone to take part in the PC world. |
