@jasonkoebler This is such a fascinating bad take to me because it doesn't just show a fundamental misunderstanding of the space he's trying to influence, it betrays what seems to me like a vapid, dispassionate life.

I know that sounds incredibly mean, but I really don't know how else to describe someone who considers the act of engaging with something that requires practice and learning and challenging oneself as boring, who finds the concept of gaining mastery unpleasant, and who doesn't see any worth in the experience of creating or performing something beyond the monetizable products created by the performance.

For his sake I really hope he's just saying that because he thinks it will help sell his products rather than because he believes it. That'd still be shitty because it'd be lying for profit, but what a sad, dismal way to experience life if he's sincere.

It sure as hell isn't fun to be making music if it immediatly gets scraped by AI so everyone can copy it in he blink of an eye. When the whole industry is designed around music as a consumable product where artists get paid literal fragments of pennies. where every musician is forced into being a "content creator" in order to survive and fight for peoples attention against algorithms that couldn't care less about the slow and passionate process of creating something of value.

OF COURSE it isn't fun if tech companies do everything in their power to make it as little fun and as competitive as possible.

And yet they will never steal the magic
