@jeffjarvis The rulebook at all media outlets is simple: Trump and his allies must always appear strong. His adversaries must always appear weak.

The stories can appear to wring their hands about how bad, misguided, or counterproductive their actions are. They can point out lies and contradictions. Doesn't matter as long as the underlying message is "Trump strong, opposition weak".
