The ITVx app on my Roku box started displaying ads when you pause playback for more than a few seconds. Seems to be an unwelcome trend.

@raymierussell @TwoClownsEating Given that often the reason for pausing is because your attention needs to be elsewhere, I'm not sure I'd want to pay for one of my ads (not that I've ever run an ad) to appear under those circumstances.

I have developed a habit of mutiing the TV when normal ads appear and distracting myself for the few minutes they are on. Sometimes I even miss the show starting back and I need to do a quick rewind, so I mostly ignore ads.
