They just vanish without a trace. It's supposed to have been fixed—I've been told it was fixed multiple times over about 18 months. It hasn't been. What matters to me isn't so much that it changes, actually, but that people know. Senders have no idea their message wasn't received and recipients have no idea there was a message. |

Föderation EN Sa 30.11.2024 15:34:13 Developer question: If you build a minimal ActivityPub server for development purposes, do you have to run it on a registered domain with an SSL certificate for it to be able to connect to anything else (like a big Mastodon instance)? Or is running it on some kind of dynDNS or ngrok type service (so it has a static domain name) enough just to test things out? (Boosts for reach gratefully received 🙏) |

Anyone know this tool? (pretty sure it was called fedi-something, but that doesn't narrow it down) |

I've previously opted out of all #Mastodon features that would promote my profile anywhere—where the hell did this come from and why the hell isn't it #optin? And what is this "personlized suggestion" based on?

Föderation EN Mi 09.10.2024 16:00:34 Finally broke looking at the new #Mastodon interface and decided to try #Phanpy, but it's even more bloated. Fired up my old #Sengi desktop client but it looks like the code is no longer maintained and the version I have doesn't work any more. Didn't there used to be other popular web interfaces you could use to connect to your Mastodon account (on any instance)? |
