Like one device will have messages delivered and seen, and on another device I simply don't see those messages at all, and yet the client appears to be happy and say things are up to date. I'll even see typing notifications from someone in the same room that has missing messages. Then at some point an update will barf into the room with the missing messages. It's very frustrating and trust-violating. |

Föderation EN Do 05.10.2023 15:16:34 @whitequark @matrix (NB before anyone corrects me, I _realize_ that it's stated and intentional design that one client and another client even from the same user may be in different states, the frustrating thing here is that it seems intuitively like the client that is behind should know that (e.g., because it is getting current typing notifications that postdate the missing information), and it gives no indication that it does or does not know.) |
