Föderation EN Do 30.01.2025 11:50:34 Β«Using a Permanent WebFinger Address for My Fediverse ProfileΒ» Yes, the decentralization of the Internet is also its strength because it exists for communication and information exchange. Being online and/or having a website is always a lot more than what people see visually. But unfortunately, in my opinion, too few people implement this and justify it vaguely. ποΈ https://it-notes.dragas.net/2024/10/08/using-a-permanent-webfinger-address/ #webfinger #webdev #json #permanent #it #web #fediverse #profile #internet #decentralized |

Föderation EN Mi 20.11.2024 22:52:18 Anyone running multiple #Fediverse services on one domain, but using user@dmn.tld for identification instead of user@mstdn.dmn.tld or user@pxlfd.dmn.tld? How do you handle #Webfinger responses in these cases? My current experience is that regardless of service used, the service will always direct users to the first profile in the webfinger response (using pxlfed but getting a users mstdn profile), which sure seems like a #bug to me. |
Föderation EN Mi 25.09.2024 17:30:09 I'm trying to set up a #webfinger alias here: The intent is to use this site here: Ultimately I'm trying to use alex@standiford.us for my online presence and basically have that be an alias for my alex@www.alexstandiford.com. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong though - everything seems correct but Mastodon can't locate me at @alex, only @alex Anyone have any ideas? |
Föderation EN Di 18.06.2024 18:15:17 ANN: FediTest 0.2 is out. This is our first release, even if early as you can tell from the version number. feditest is now in the python repos, so you can say "pip install feditest", and the documentation is current on https://feditest.org You can currently use it to run your own WebFinger server tests similar to https://feditest.org/assets/2024-06-05/webfinger-server-all-wellknown-saas-imp.testmatrix.html Obviously much more to come. Feedback appreciated! /cc @activitypubtestsuite #fediverse #activitypub #webfinger #testing #qa |
