Social Media fool on multiple platforms. I tend to talk about :fediverse: and it's nuances. Also post using from time to time. I am your typical hippie and :weed: smoker. Just had to go to the web to mute a conversation I was a part of, that I no longer wished to be a part of.

I wish Mastodon apps would adopt this feature so that I wouldn't have to go to the web.

A normal user would be quite shocked at the absolute lack of admin/moderation tools in the Mastodon software.

It's wild, it's basically "if you don't see it, it doesn't exist". As someone who's constantly worried about liability, this just does not work for a single user instance. I have nightmares about how bad it might be for a much bigger instance.😳

I hear Akkoma has decent tools, anyone can concur?

The Fediverse name and logo are fine. Leave it alone. Changes to brands only serves to confuse the unknowledgeable. Let's not do that.

Thanks.

@ivory Hi, loving the app so far!

Suggestion:

An optional drop down bar on the timeline screen where a user can "pin" timelines as single press buttons to easily switch between them OR the option to pin timelines and specific hashtags lists to the bottom bar for one click access.

Thanks for consideration.

How do I edit filters in @ivory?🤔

Can't seem to find it.

If it only uses the filters from the web app, I'm fine with that. I just thought I read somewhere that Ivory has the option to edit them as well.

Thanks ahead of time!🙏

There's an @ivory bug with the newest version.

The app crashes when attempting to compose a post while browsing a Hashtag list.

Sooo, @ivory, how exactly do I make a hashtag list? Don't see the option anywhere...🤔

So, @ivory, with your new hashtag groups feature, will it have the ability to also exclude hashtags from a group?

Mastodon Advanced Web View has this functionality and it's very useful to filter spam in certain tags like Mastodon or Fediverse.

Anxiously awaiting the feature drop, as I don't have access to TestFlight.

I love when Fediverse scrapers get Fediblocked MULTIPLE times then start making new instances under obscure domain names to hide their data stealing...🤬

Awakari created a new instance on Indy.rest on June 24. 4 days after I called for Fediblock on their other attempt at ban evasion (awakari.app)

Indy.rest seems to be down at the moment. However, given their track record, this is a required block if you value your data not being sold.

Does anyone have a very detailed and comprehensive guide on how to scale up a Mastodon server?

I'm pretty noobish to Linux but I can follow guides if they have commands and stuff. Though, the only guides I could find were very light on the commands for certain steps.

My Sidekiq has been getting backed up every now and then with thousands of jobs. Of course they eventually clear out but I'd like to just mitigate it by adding more processes or whatever because I'm not even using 50% of my server resources🤷‍♂️

Any help would be much appreciated.

PS. My server is currently backed up so if you reply to this, I probably won't see it for a bit.😬
