I'm an environmental economist who researches econ pedagogy to make learning economics marginally less dismal.
My pipe-dream is to write a fantasy novel/economics textbook, which is getting closer to reality every day.

Profile pic is me smiling in front of a whiteboard with economics gibberish -- cause econ makes me happy.
Background is my dog, Freya, who is derpily sticking her tongue out while passed out.
About me | Making econ marginally less dismal one post at a time. I teach economics at the UC Denver and am an all around nerd. My goal is to combine my passion for all things fantasy/sci-fi and love of economics to lower the cost of learning econ. |
Fantastical Economics | You can find my first-ever short story that covers the circular economy and sustainability in a sci-fi setting here: https://edgeryders.eu/t/circular-reasoning/19717 |
Föderation EN Do 04.04.2024 14:50:34 Say it with me folks, inheritance tax. We are entering into "the great wealth transfer" where about $5.2 trillion (that's the one with more zeros than I can count) is about to pass from the, largely undeserving, super rich to their entirely undeserving heirs. "Research by Forbes magazine found there were 15 billionaires aged 30 or under but that none had created their own wealth, instead benefitting from huge inheritances." |
Föderation EN Do 15.06.2023 17:27:24 @grinningcat @the_Effekt @TonyStark But don't you all know that what's good for the rich and large companies will trickle down to the rest of us? I mean, we're still waiting for any sign of that happening, but people say it's going to happen any day now. Very smart people--you can tell they are smart cause of their wealth--say it's true so I'm sure it'll happen any day now. There are very convincing theories as well, so long as you don't mind suspending disbelief about how reality works. |
