@Gargron @koehntopp @jerry on the poliversity.it instance @macfranc solved the problem by modifying the stylesheet of his instance. However, I solved it by using the RaccoonForFriendica app that manages different display layouts to shorten messages to the number of lines you prefer. Furthermore, if you use glitch-soc it also helps you write in markdown with a handy formatting tool bar.
