Use encrypted comms platforms like Signal everywhere you can. ESPECIALLY for banal and innocuous stuff like organizing your little league team or your neighborhood potluck or your coworker's lunch bunch. The more people using encrypted comms platforms for absolutely boring things, the easier it is for those of us to NEED encrypted comms to be lost in the noise.

Every internet of shit, phone, tablet, and other sorts of device manufacturers should be required to push/post a root unlock firmware for their devices before they can stop supporting them. There's too goddamn much ewaste from everything already. If they're going to abandon their devices, at least make it easy for people to unlock them and do whatever else they want with them.

Literally every generation of humans has wrung their hands worrying about "kids these days". You know what? Most of those kids grow up into pretty normal and reasonable adults, and stuff kinda works out regardless.

I wonder what percentage of kids who played football regret their decision to play football... They got permanently injured, brain damaged, hell, a couple kids every year die from playing football. In the interest of protecting kids, we should ban all football until you turn 18, get letters from 3 therapists, and have specific insurance coverage additions to cover any injuries you have. Also, your coach should be legally liable for any damages or regret you have from playing football.

(This is an analogy about trans kids btw)
