Föderation EN Do 02.01.2025 12:33:19 I had been very impressed with the ethos of those behind @Vivaldi for a while, and have gone back and forth between that and Firefox, but Mozilla have finally done too much to push many of us away - for good this time, it seems, for me: I now have Vivaldi on all my main devices and I love it. When it comes to web browsers, I am what you'd probably call a "power user" and Vivaldi is certainly geared up for that! |
Föderation EN Do 02.01.2025 13:57:51 @MediaActivist @Vivaldi Honestly, I'm struggling to understand what the Mozilla leadership are thinking. They keep working on and then adding functionality to Firefox that no one wants. The fact that Vivaldi are staying clear of AI makes it winner and all the excellent built-in functionality is just a HUGE bonus. |
Föderation EN Do 02.01.2025 13:59:25 @MediaActivist @Vivaldi I second this. Mozilla abandoned power users in favor of wider audience. They've been loosing users ever since. It's the power users who do evangelism, write articles and guides etc. And they can't beat Chrome with resources they have. Zen browser is what Firefox should've been. But for now I'm sticking with Vivaldi. |
Föderation EN Do 02.01.2025 14:02:07 @BeamMeOut @Vivaldi I agree. In fact, the excellent Zen fork was my last connection to Firefox these last several months, and in the coming months I'm sure they'll be at an even higher standard. |
Föderation EN Do 02.01.2025 14:28:04 @MediaActivist Yes, @Vivaldi is my main Browser to. It ticks nearly all of my boxes. One feature request: It would be great do habe an option to 'switch off' any caching for redirects and HSTS and thenlike for certain destinations. I have a lot of device-configuration to do, and for instance if device a sends a permanent HTTPS: redirect for 193.168.1.1, and device b dies not have HTTS 'on' per default, it's always a hassle with private-tabs for that matter. |
Föderation EN Do 02.01.2025 14:57:50 @MediaActivist @Vivaldi I've been using vivaldi for a couple of years. Switched from Opera once they started dumping in AI crap. I've not touched Firefox, Chrome or any other browser for maybe 10 years. |
Föderation EN Do 02.01.2025 15:51:14 @MediaActivist @Vivaldi for me, Vivaldi is great because it has tons of features but it doesn't shove them in your face: I have a well customized browsing experience that is nonetheless lightweight |
Föderation EN Do 02.01.2025 17:51:57 @MediaActivist Nice to hear and thank you. 🙇 P.S. If it was not clear, I work for @Vivaldi |
