Things i learned during a lights out scenario:

- if you're asking yourself "should we go stock up on food and canned goods?" Than you should have gone an hour ago

- Chains won't sell you anything because "the system is down", go for mom and pop shops

- always have emergency live money at home
- stores that sell cigarettes and aren't worried that "the system is down" will make a fortune

- radios were the only form of getting updates

- parks, benches and children's playgrounds were filled to the brim

- once the panic shopping ended it was like the entire country decided "guess we're having a lazy Sunday afternoon today"

I could go on but these were the highlights

@St1ka heh yeah we remember the 2003 blackout in the northeastern US

the hardest part of that was surviving the heat; fortunately one of the cars had enough gas that we were able to sit in it and use its A/C

@St1ka find your local mom and pop bodega. They will have things even when the chains don’t.

@St1ka

And forget about gas/diesel.

@f800gecko Thankfully everything was nearby for me, so I didn't get that far
