Every tax dollar spent went through a massive and terribly long process of identifying problems, figuring out solutions, compromises with all interested parties, allocating money, purchasing resources, recruiting and training talented people, and refining effective processes. While not perfect, it is good, and GOP propaganda about government waste is mostly a talking point to discourage people from seeking solutions to inequity. And dumb people hate complicated solutions.
