On Windows: only the system icons and a few software shortcuts.

On Linux: only removable devices icons, when mounted.

@Vivaldi My work computer is more of a mess. My home systems vary. The Linux machines are pretty sparse on the desktop, the Windows partition of my laptop is a bit of a mess.

I still take a bit of time to choose a desktop background, but I rarely see the desktop anywav!

@Vivaldi, what are desktop icons? Never use it, not even the recycle bin. Some icons in the Task bar where they should be.

The only desktop icons are minimized programs. Rarely more than two, so not much to organize.
