Scope 2 are emissions from electricity you draw from the grid. So if your local electrical plant runs on coal, your use of that electricity causes emissions. |

For Shell, they have about 300Mt of emissions from suppliers -- a lot! But by far their biggest emissions are for customers. 900Mt. That's huge, the equivalent of a medium-sized country, and it comes from us buying shell gas, putting it in our cars, and burning it. |

Otherwise, individual actions are meaningless except as a way to stave off all the horribleness of societal collapse. |
