loops will be ready to self host with a simple installation process (mysql, php, redis, ffmpeg) by the end of this month!

it will still be beta software, but it's been running pretty stable so far on loops.video and we're switching our approach to open first development, as it should be.

Pixelfed was the first NLnet fediverse grant project, I applied in 2019.

Thanks to my personal recommendations to several projects, I was able to help them get funding too.

I'm on my 4th NLnet grant, and they love me and our endeavours.

This is why I love encouraging people to build, because if you are that focused, it's only a matter of time.

So build. 🚀

I've spent 7 years building Pixelfed, and couldn't be more proud of our recent fundraising efforts.

Despite some people trying to cancel my Loops NLnet grant, I was able to launch a record breaking Kickstarter to help fund our various projects!

Let this be a lesson, people can dislike you, they can hate you, but they can't ignore you, because you change things.

Been testing an early Pixelfed Groups release with my partner, he thinks it's ready enough for release 😅

The latest Pixelfed app version now supports HEIC and will optimize images larger than 5MB by default.
