Föderation EN Fr 14.03.2025 15:34:32 OK. Slept on it. Thought it over. Chuck Schumer and his colleagues voting along with him are failing to meet the moment. Why on earth would you sign up for the six months of hell they're offering? Why would anybody go back out in the cold or take time off work to protest? What the fuck is the point of this party? Did Chuck's rich donors call and bend his ear and Gillibrand's and convince them to surrender the one Constitutional tool they have? Shameful. |
Föderation · Fr 14.03.2025 16:10:16 @fm2279@social.coop I realize this is reductive, but I always come around again and again to the fact that Chuck Schumer goes way back with Trump and his mentor Roy Cohn: https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2018/04/frank-rich-roy-cohn-the-original-donald-trump.html |
Föderation EN Fr 14.03.2025 16:19:26 @abucci Carville is a ghoul. This is just such a shameful moment, but I suppose predictable. The leadership thinks (or wants everybody else to believe) they're playing metachess while ultimately just being craven. |
Föderation · Fr 14.03.2025 16:34:40 @fm2279@social.coop I think it's amazing that his wife is a Republican political consultant. |
Föderation · Fr 14.03.2025 18:18:35 @fm2279@social.coop Was reminded of this: Republicans were there: In addition to Ivanka and Jared, Kellyanne Conway, and David Koch of the Koch brothers. Also Dina Powell, the deputy national-security adviser in the Trump White House. On the other hand, Chuck Schumer was also thereFrom https://www.thenation.com/article/archive/why-are-jared-and-ivanka-partying-in-the-hamptons-with-chuck-schumer/ Schumer's always been like this. How is anyone still surprised? He stands up for Chuck Schumer, and for his friends he parties with in the Hamptons, long before he stands up for the average person. The only question left to ask is why no one has figured out how to get this guy out of public office after all this time. |
