i don't mean to throw a spanner in the works here but pretty sure the greatest impediment to #foss and digital sovereignty is that a #ubi doesn't exist. most developers today have a long list of little tiny annoyances in the linux/gnu world. these tiny annoyances add up to a system that is basically unusuable for the 99.9%. i don't see the ngi fixing these "thousand cuts" issues.

giving ppl a ubi means that they have the ability to say no to an unjust/abusive employer like msoft to fix these issues. it doesn't need to be a large sum but ubi is sorely needed to allow subsistence while devs work.

we all know the story of the lonely, poor dev who succumbed to a attack eariler in the year, it probably would never have happened if they had an unconditional income.

unforunately i cant veiw that site because its cloudflare and im on strike against the megacorporates, anyone else reporting it?
