That’s what I’m doing.
I hold down on the image to get a pop-up with the option to show media description.
When that appears, I hold on the text, and nothing happens.
Here are 3 grabs, but I can’t show me holding down on the alt-text. But nothing happens, even after holding down for 15 seconds.

@qurlyjoe Not from there. Go to the full media view. Tap on the ALT text icon in the bottom corner. You will see the alt text in an overlay window above the media. Hold that.

@qurlyjoe The way you tried to do it was our old temporary way to access alt text. We will probably remove that if it causes confusion for people. The new way is much better because if you like reading alt text, you can keep that window open and it will persist across media views.

@qurlyjoe Unfortunately not possible there. Anyways, holding down on an image and choosing a menu option is the same or slower than just tapping the image (depending on whether you keep alt text open or not).
