Introducing WikiAsteroids, a classic arcade asteroids game powered by real-time edits! ☄️

asteroids.wiki/

Each edit to an article on Wikipedia spawns an asteroid. The larger the edit, the larger the asteroid (and the more shots it takes to destroy). A newly created article spawns an extra life, while a newly registered user spawns a powerup.

A screenshot from 'WikiAsteroids,' a browser-based game inspired by the classic Asteroids arcade game. The title 'WikiAsteroids' is displayed at the top in bold, futuristic font. The game screen has a black background with a green triangular spaceship. Floating around are asteroids with article titles such as 'Cyclura rileyi,' 'Mean Girls,' 'Private inventory,' and 'Ken (unit),' along with a powerup labeled 'User:WikiEditor.'

I've recently made some big updates to Cite Unseen, a user script on the English that adds icons to citations to help indicate their reliability and nature (such as when a source is an advocacy group, government-controlled, opinion piece, etc.)

Th updates include new icons for satirical and sponsored articles, new configuration options for users, more reliable citation detection, improved runtime, and many new domain categorizations.

Cite Unseen was also recently featured on Headbomb's @WikiSignpost article, "Citation tools for dummies!" There are many tools worth checking out.

A screenshot of several citations on the English Wikipedia's article about Citizens United v. FEC. The Cite Unseen tool has added several icons to the sources.

The first source, from the San Antonio Express News Editorial Board, has been marked as an opinion piece.

The second source, from the National Review, has been marked as coming from a marginally reliable advocacy group.

The third source, from The Hill, has been marked as a generally reliable news article.

The fourth source, from the Chicago Tribune, has been marked as a news article.

The fifth source, from CNN's Political Ticker, has been marked as a blog post from a generally reliable source.
