@nikclayton This is what makes most sense to me with a toggle, as colour indicates off/on.

A speaker emitting soundwaves makes me think the volume is ON. But that's when its other state is a speaker emitting an X.

However, somewhat conversely, the follow and unfollow icons make sense while indicating result instead of status. (With a + for follow and a - for Unfollow.) 🤷‍♀️
