C2S server for matrix.org accounts is blocked in Russia using deep packet inspection (DPI). That means people can no longer access their accounts without resorting to censorship circumvention technology.

The website and S2S federation server are still reachable from Russia.

Simple, but very effective.

Honored to have had a chance to speak at (the very well-attended very well-run) #matrixconf this year. Great (and livestreamed!) talks, a good audience, a proper indoor masking policy and CO2 monitors on every floor live-updated, exactly what a modern conf should be in every respect.

I'm heading back home after four incredible days at The Matrix Conference. I'm going home with a sense of belonging and beginning.

Bonding with the community, the individuals and organizations who are all part of a vibrant, organic, and interconnected ecosystem. Being a part of a whole. Being together. This is what this has been all about, and we nailed it.

Auf Wiedersehen, Berlin! Thanks to you and the local Matrix community for the hospitality -- I look forward to many returns ☺️
