· Föderation EN Fr 28.02.2025 22:13:01 @hvdzwaag @petergleick they may, but what does that really achieve? I think we shouldn't give them more credit than they deserve, they're not some grand chess masters as they want to be seen. FWIW it exposes them as direct russian assets, so people who doubted that will now see the reality |
Föderation NL Fr 28.02.2025 22:40:23 @maxd @petergleick I’m afraid the US tactic is to make his position as president impossible by signaling to the people of Ukraine that Zelensky is in the way of a peaceful solution. The immediate withdrawal of US aid in restoring the energy system is just a first step. The people of Ukraine will suffer more and longer and the US will blame this on their current president. So it’s up to the public support and resilience of the people how this ends. |
Föderation EN Fr 28.02.2025 22:47:22 @hvdzwaag @petergleick as a Ukrainian, I can say this signalling has expectedly failed, they're achieving an opposite effect, and they have no idea how to talk to Ukrainians. This only makes Zelenskyy more popular among Ukrainians who were tired of him. Everyone realises that now is not the time for infighting, and everyone knows that russia needs to GTFO first of all, since that's the real problem and the real cause. |
Föderation NL Fr 28.02.2025 22:50:41 @maxd @petergleick I totally agree! |
Föderation EN Sa 01.03.2025 00:35:51 @maxd @hvdzwaag @petergleick I completely believe he would step down in a deal that had a security guarantee. The dude probably just wants to go back to making sitcoms FFS edit: poor bastard is really gonna be pissed when he ends up as the first world president. |
Föderation EN Sa 01.03.2025 01:56:24 @maxd @hvdzwaag @petergleick as an American I kind of think Zelenskyy knew it would go this way. He already knew what Trump was, Trump’s first impeachment was due to him pulling similar shakedown shit with Zelenskyy. And it seemed batshit that he was even considering signing over half of Ukraine’s mineral rights. It does seem to have clarified things for many EU leaders. If so, well done. |
Föderation EN Sa 01.03.2025 08:10:05 @daedalean @maxd @hvdzwaag @petergleick do we know he was actively considering it? What were those news reports stating it was pretty much a done deal based on? |

Föderation EN Sa 01.03.2025 08:56:46 @maxd @hvdzwaag @petergleick In my head, Zelenskyy played along to tentatively agree on the extortionate minerals deal, which was a shock to lots of us who knew this was a bad plan. Then he went to the Oval Office, knowing full well how 47 would act in public and out of camera, to confirm via live television, that this new US regime is 100% under the influence of Putin. In a way, he successfully exposed the American regime for what it is, more than the other Western leaders could have. Yes, the Americans will try to get rid of Zelenskyy, by order from their Russian master. So now he will be targeted by Russia AND the US. And not only through political pressure… |
Föderation NL Sa 01.03.2025 03:42:42 @hvdzwaag @maxd @petergleick these morons trying to make him out to be Yasser Arafat. |
