Day 26 of is "rainy" and "shot abroad"

Well, it rains a *lot* here. Like, a *lot*. I definitely don't need to go abroad to find rain!

I have literally dozens of these to choose from but I'll limit myself to four because that's what fits in a post.

I really love the soft cool tones that Fuji film stocks get in this sort of weather - these are all Superia X-Tra 400, except the evergreen which is Venus 800

Close up colour photograph of some dried out beech leaves on a tree on a wet day in winter.

The leaves are hanging heavily with raindrops, and they have an almost papery quality to them. They are a soft brownish orange colour, which contrasts with the cool grey tones of the blurred background.

The branches are thin and dark in colour, and they are covered in hundreds of small waterdrops that appear as white points of light. Some of the branches closest to the camera are in sharp focus, falling away to a blur in the background.

There is a slightly haziness to the image that comes from a misted up lens, and the colour tones are cool soft greens and greys.

Only a small portion of the foliage is in sharp focus, towards the top right of the photograph - heavy round waterdrops catch the light and hang from the very tips of the leaves. The rest is a soft blur of deep cool emerald green, with occasional points of light where there are more waterdrops.

The branch closest to the camera is in sharp focus, and it has tiny green leaves spread in clusters along its length, with the remains of little pink buds at the centre of each cluster. Many of the leaves hang heavy with waterdrops. More blurred branches can be made out in the background. There are a couple of streaks of falling rain visible in the photograph.

The colour tones are cool soft spring greens, pinks and greys.
