Get this: when setting up a new phone I lose access to previous conversations and media DESPITE having a synced desktop app. Why? Well in Signal your desktop client is not a real client! Switching hardware with #DeltaChat was quick, easy and successful. Every client is real.👍 Signal:😖 I do wonder why they fail so hard there, as they generally have things figured out, too. |

In Signal large parts of the application are reimplemented in multiple languages, so adding the ability to be a primary device and be a sending side for Signal desktop will require writing more JavaScript code. Delta Chat has all the related code in the shared core Rust library https://github.com/chatmail/core/ and the UI only cares about displaying profiles, lists and messages. |
