"I don't care" as an option wouldn't quite capture my answer.

Maybe "I don't care, Welcome" is close.

Not at all a criticism of how others use the word, as that would defeat the entire purpose.

As a developer "should" is akin to "must" and "shall", & somehow that makes ethical sense to me. Again YMMV
