· Föderation EN Do 09.05.2024 00:00:37 @perksofbeingben @thunderbird Don't have the app on hand, but look for "Mail Rules". They're usually a bit dense to parse at first, but you basically tell the software "if an e-mail comes from address X, then move it to folder Y/delete it". If you're using a provider like GMail/Microsoft, you can set that up via the web app itself, and the mail will be sorted automatically when arriving. Otherwise, you'll only be able to filter it on the app you're setting up the rules in. In a few hours I might be able to help a bit more. Let me know what your e-mail provider is, I'll try and check if they have mail rules/filters on the web client. |
Föderation EN Do 09.05.2024 02:15:32 @nanianmichaels @thunderbird thanks! I'm trying to look at it and I don't see that in the K9 mobile app settings sadly. Is there a way to make it more granular so that specific emails from the sender are deleted but not all? Like maybe using a specific subject line or something? There will still be some emails from this sender that I want to keep. And yeah, I'm using my custom domain so it's not with a regular email provider like Google. |
Föderation EN Do 09.05.2024 08:18:57 @perksofbeingben Though maybe I missed something and @thunderbird can correct me. My current email app for Android, FairEmail, does have a specific section for mail rules. And yes, you can be VERY granular with rules. You can filter by sender, recipient, subject, date, if the mail has attachments, and even the specific folder the email is in (in FairEmail, that's even the base condition). |
Föderation EN Fr 10.05.2024 02:46:15 @nanianmichaels @thunderbird wow! That's really great to hear, I'm definitely looking into fair email now. Thanks for the rec and all the help diving into Thunderbird too, it really means a lot! |
Föderation EN Sa 11.05.2024 00:10:26 @perksofbeingben @nanianmichaels Hello! We spoke to the team and filters on the app side are on the Thunderbird for Android roadmap, though we don't know when at the moment. We hope you'll give us a try then! |
Föderation EN Sa 11.05.2024 00:12:45 @thunderbird @nanianmichaels cool! Glad to hear it's something planned. I guess for now I'll either manually delete things or try out another app. 🤷♂️ We'll see! So far I love the Android app though so great job to the team! 👏 |
