And when they do this to a citizen, they will say the same thing.

"But in Monday’s court filing, attorneys for the government admitted that the Salvadoran man, Kilmar Abrego Garcia, was deported accidentally. “Although ICE was aware of his protection from removal to El Salvador, Abrego Garcia was removed to El Salvador because of an administrative error,” the government told the court. Trump lawyers said the court has no ability to bring him back now that Abrego Garcia is in Salvadoran custody."

"Trump administration attorneys told the court to dismiss the request on multiple grounds, including that Trump’s “primacy in foreign affairs” outweighs the interests of Abrego Garcia and his family."

@nazgul Probably true, but I do think this was incompetence and not strictly malevolence.

@xvf17 @nazgul @xvf17 @nazgul bullshit. Due process is guaranteed by the constitution to prevent both.

@nazgul They had better the fuck bring this guy home, and maybe all the other people they misidentified while they're at it. I'm thinking about the guy whose "gang tattoo" was an autism ribbon to support his brother.

Frankly, selling people into slavery in a private prison in an unrelated third country is just disgusting at its core, and ideally all the men would come back for their hearings and then get sent to a more reasonable destination with a few bucks and a rucksack to start life over.

@nazgul Besides the falling of democracy and the rule of law, another example of how everything about Trump and his cabal is a royal fuckup. America has elected a malevolent, criminal, half-wit, fuckup.
