@augieray Ivan illich had a good quote that stuck with me on that matter (albeit, in french)
"Everything becomes possible for a happy few as long as the big majority is ready to toil as slaves to send someone to the moon"

(there are objections to be made to this of course ; going to the moon is hardly the economical problem, the problem is really to affirm an unjust system by showing achievements that are by essence an exclusive royal/pope-esque right that no normal being will ever experience)
