@stux I just ran a test because this has been baffling me for months and I suddenly thought it even may have to do with the Windows environment.
So, I copied the hearts from the published post on Mastodon.
I pasted them in Word as plain text.
All of them are in colour except that red one. This is intriguing! What's different about the red heart?

I remember the "finish" flag also has this, it splits into a black flag and white flag but combined it's the finish, or pirate :blobcatgiggle:

@stux Hmmm... This is interesting. I wonder what the reason is, it could be the encoding? This is the basic heart though, it's so strange. You might know clever people who could be in the know?

@stux I tried a few things but the red heart is a problem. I even used my Facebook account (almost obsolete) and it does this with red heart as well.
The odd thing is that when I paste emojis in Word directly it turns them into images, but not visible ones. In Excel the same thing happens.
I then pasted in WhatsApp > the red heart shows without needing to send to activate.
I pasted them in Signal > they all show well except the read heart which renders an image.
Going full nerd here, help! 🤣
