One extremely rich and influential person has seemingly tried, and even he still hasn't quite done it.

@robb I logged in to delete my account this morning (an adventure in itself given I’ve not logged in for over a year) and was surprised to see that the “very online” usual suspects from the tech community are very active and appear to be getting plenty of engagement over there - the American dream really is money over morals.
