I think the effective loss of Meetup is a huge blow to America, and especially to the America I want to live in.

There are fewer and fewer “third places” for us to congregate, together, and Meetup served as a leading “fourth place” (what I call regularly scheduled activities/events you can just show up at). I’ve been a meetup organizer and used it to quickly establish an IRL social community around a number of interests & activities.

@moshidon Quick question for you re: Moshidon. I’m setting up some friends on a masto instance I started for our travel photo sharing club & am looking for an android client to recommend (I’m on iOS). They need:

- a prominent local feed (they’ll mostly browse local posts, not home feed. Federated feed is bonus)

- a feed that doesn’t crop photos (esp portrait; cropping 2-4 photos to make them fit is fine as long as they can easily browse them as a slider).

Would Moshidon work?
