@mastohost I somehow was convinced, until today, that I could subscribe to the public timeline of other servers, as a relay.
It makes sense that it's not possible. But the relays I find are firehoses and I wanted to leverage the fact that there are thematic instances to seed my server with content that has a higher chance to be about a specific topic. That is the first misconception of the federation I have to rethink.
