Wow. May have found a really obscure technical issue in my site that might have a profound effect on its #seo. Have just fixed it and am going to test over the next few weeks to see if there i any difference. If there is then I have yet another audit step in my arsenal and will write it up.

ok so I have written a post on the obscure technical issue i found yesterday and having thought about it for a while it might not be so obscure after all or even an issue at all, but i went ahead and tested anyway.

@simoncox hm, had a similar problem with a customer site because i copied text from a doc into wordpress. Causes problems, so in the future only .txt files for me :D

@simoncox Not if there is a breaking space /non breaking space but if the word is broken in half i would guess so. Maybe it has a slight impact because Google is smart enough to fix this before indexing.

Yep that’s my thought - suspect they will strip such characters and I did do a test and it looks like they might. But let’s see. 😀
