Hey users: is anyone using Evolution in production, for mail & calendar?

Last time I tried it was less than satisfactory. But that was a long time ago.

@slothrop I was, and I was broadly happy with it, but I moved to Thunderbird specifically for a conversation view. I couldn't find one in Evolution which did what I wanted.

@neil Thanks! Unlike in the past, my private email requirements these days are rather modest.

I've gone from processing 150-200 mails / day to maybe 5. So I might give Evolution another go.

@neil @slothrop I tried to use Thunderbird with my O365, and it was ok-ish.

But it does not support O365 calendars (for free, as Evolution does).

Also, by "conversation view", you mean this? In Evolution, it is two clics away in the main menu 😉

@theron29 @slothrop The bit I was missing was threaded conversation of messages stored in different folders (e.g. some in Sent, some in Inbox, so in storage directories).

If I simply overlooked that, then great it is there.

@slothrop Yep, for around 7 years or so... On company's Office365 account...

I actually love it 😊

@slothrop I switched from Tbird to Evolution back in the fall.

Haven't looked back.

@slothrop I've been using @EvolutionGnome for years (email, calendar, contacts, tasks) and I'm very happy with it. I use the vertical view, and search folders for unified inbox, sent, drafts, etc. The only thing I miss, as someone already mentioned, is a real conversations mode including sent and received messages in the thread (like Geary, for example).
