Let's start with the definition of "healthy communities" from our about page: spritely.institute/about/

> We must build tech that allows communities to self-govern according to their needs, which vary widely from community to community. We may not know all of these needs or mechanisms required for all communities in advance, but we should have the building blocks so communities can easily put them in place.

The needs and expectations of different communities vary widely depending on the needs and context of their community. The rules and needs of a visual effects demoscene celebration community may be very different from that of an ocular migraine support community, for instance!

What is important is that we allow tooling for communication to be contextualized and for different kinds of communities to form, self-govern, and protect their users.

We cannot provide all the rules and expectations for all communities, but we can provide tooling to keep communities safe.

Thus it is also important, both in terms of safety, but in terms of interactive features, that our platforms be extensible. Many different communities may also wish to extend our platform in different ways we could not possibly anticipate, and we should support and encourage that!

That's it for today's tech value! Tomorrow's builds right off of where we left off, at "user empowerment and fostering agency"!

If you find yourself aligning with our technical values, as a reminder we're running a fundraising campaign, maybe pitch in! spritely.institute/donate/

Cya tomorrow!
