I can keep posting these all day but there wouldn't be enough space in our unlimited space buckets

@stux ooh, those numbers are red. And negative. Red and negative is bad, right?

Föderation EN Fr 04.04.2025 01:39:38

@stux feels like someone is waiting to the side to buy controlling stakes of everything

Föderation EN Fr 04.04.2025 01:40:42

@antijingoist Naaah, i don't play bullshit games :blobcatgiggle:

Imagine how many US-worth's are just evaporated at this point

The US was worth about 300 million in total a few months ago, since that's how much Elon paid for it

Currently my guess is that maaaaybe a total worth of 100 million is left? 🇺🇸

Still overpriced

@stux Most Americans who actually have a retirement fund (besides Social Security which has its own problems) have at least some of it in the stock market, with hopefully decreasing amounts of it as they get closer to retirement.

So many retirement portfolios and pension funds lost about 5% of their value today. Even outside the US, stock indices (like NASDAQ and the S&P 500 for the US) fell up to 3.5%

Föderation EN Fr 04.04.2025 02:06:14

@stux

It's pretty crappy but I'm only down about 5%. That's a huge one-day drop but it will come back eventually. Remember, in the stock market, you don't actually lose any money until you sell.

@stux

Parallel to the Twitter numbers, looks like...

Föderation EN Fr 04.04.2025 01:41:09

@stux I have a friend who lost 38K today in her investments.

Föderation EN Fr 04.04.2025 01:41:56

@FaithinBones That. is. a. lot.

But.. if you have 38K to invest.. 🤔

uh.. well..

Föderation EN Fr 04.04.2025 01:46:26

@stux her parents invested as much as they could and set up investments for my friend because she was born handicapped. She can’t work. When her parents died they hoped what they invested in would see her through life. She really can’t afford to lose 38k.

Föderation EN Fr 04.04.2025 01:47:52

@FaithinBones That's a good one :cat_hug_triangle:

Personally my choice would be a bank, basically the same except you won't lose your money (if it's a decent bank, here that is the case)

Maybe less return but safety is much more important

Föderation EN Fr 04.04.2025 02:07:08

@stux @FaithinBones If you can lose $38k from a bad day in the stock market, then you are probably well over the $250,000 max on FDIC deposit insurance
