We NewPipe maintainers were distracted from working on NewPipe by several things in the last months.
For that reason I am more than happy to announce the release of #NewPipe 0.25.2 🎉
🐛 We fixed some issues with YouTube caused by changes on their side.
🆕 If a video comes with multiple audio tracks like translations into other languages, you can now choose which audio track to use from within the player. You can also select a descriptive audio track by default in case you need it.

📺 We fixed black screens and full screen crashes on Android TVs and other devices not supporting media tunneling. If you are facing such issues, you can now disable media tunnelling in the newly added ExoPayer settings. If disabling media tunneling fixes those playback problems, please report your device model to us so we can disable it on similar devices automatically.

👐 You can now swap the brightness and volume gestures for the player. We have heared left-handed people favor this setup.
The new version contains more improvements and fixes. Check out the changelog:

The update is available via GitHub and our own #fdroid repo. It should land in the main F-Droid repo within a few days.
We are currently planning to publish one or two more releases to get most of the open PRs merged before starting to work on rewriting NewPipe.
