why not CORBA?
1. it was too complicated and bulky
2. relies too much on heavy weight operating system specific constructs. how would you implement CORBA on an SNES?
3. very enterprisey
4. can you document it entirely with an A4 sheet of paper using a normal font size? if not it’s too complicated to use as a cross language communication protocol
