See that third option below, "Followers only"? Someone with a bunch of racist followers could reply with racist abuse and only the victim and the racists see it.

Yep. It's a PAYGO system (pay as you go). Payroll taxes deducted today go directly toward grandma tomorrow. The only way Social Security won't exist is if anti-social-safety-net ghouls take it apart. (Even the worst case scenarios have retirees receiving about 75% of their promised benefits as far as the eye can see; and a few modest tweaks would mean the system could pay all its obligations indefinitely.)
