For some unknown reason notifications stopped working in #Moshidon 🤔 Seems I'm not alone with this problem, quick search here revealed a similar thread by @Radgryd
In app settings checked, system permissions checked, app is allowed to work in the background. @moshidon can I provide you with any specific informations, that might help resolve this?

@Radgryd @FineFindus @Lilim @pachli and Tusky afaik use polling notifications (instead of only push ones) as well, which seem to not be affected by this issue.
TL;DR: Polling notifications are unnafected, only push notifications are broken.

@moshidon @Radgryd @FineFindus @Lilim @pachli Push for immediacy, pull every ~ 15 minutes to work around many, many things that can go wrong with push notifications from the server.

@moshidon thank you for your answer. If I may – is this something server-side related? Should I ask my instance admin to look into this, or is it some Mastodon-wide fault and we have to wait for a fix from their side? Also, will Moshidon introduce pull method as a workaround?

@Lilim @moshidon @Radgryd Likely yes, though considering it affecting multiple servers, is probably something on the hosting/push-server side, not exactly sure.
I don't plan on adding polling, since it would be better to fix to root cause, but if this continues to be an issue, I will of course reconsider.

@FineFindus @Lilim @moshidon @Radgryd re not adding polling support:
1. Not all servers support push, or have buggy implementations that don't work.
2. Even if you're connecting to the latest Mastodon server, not all notification types are delivered via push, some of them have to be pulled. So you will miss notifications if you only use push.
