I'm using #Tusky as well. Thing is I'm hitting the little plus head symbol when I want to follow a hashtag but I'm not seeing these hashtags populate into a list or into my feed. It's not self explanatory as to what that function is doing.
I feel like my grandparents when they had me come over to show them how to double click an icon. Am I new-tech-baffles-me old?

@MyWoolyMastadon @MikeFromLFE It doesn't populate a new list (you can use Account Preferences > Tabs, and add a hashtag tab if you want).
It tells your server to add posts with that hashtag to your home timeline. So you won't see the effect immediately (e.g., old posts with that hashtag won't appear in your home timeline).
But as new posts with that hashtag are made they will be added to your home timeline.
