I just lost access to a substantial amount of issues on one of my projects.

I would appreciate if people could help upvote github.com/orgs/community/disc to get more attention.

GitHub staff won't even tell me how much data they've hidden from me, which is quite discouraging :(

A GitHub Support discussion. The discussion is too long to put in alt-text, but to summarize, "something" happened to an account of someone who reported issues to my project and GitHub has silently hidden all those issues. Support basically told me they would not help restore the data, that this is by design, and that I should open a feature request.

Definitely will be starting future projects on @Codeberg, I'm just too locked-into the GitHub Actions ecosystem for these existing projects right now...

@SylvieLorxu @Codeberg There's a Forgejo runner hosted by Codeberg that can run _most_ Github workflows. codeberg.org/Codeberg/Communit & codeberg.org/actions/meta

@Gusted @Codeberg Oh, I didn't know there was a project to have some level of GitHub Actions compatibility, that's quite cool!

@SylvieLorxu
Also, feel free to add your projects to codeberg.org/forgejo-contrib/m to see if there is some way we can be of any help.

@SylvieLorxu We have had the same problem with NewPipe years ago. We only realized that the ticket had been hidden because we were working on it at that time and it was suddenly gone. The author had been reported in a different context for spam and GitHub just hid all issues the user created. IIRC GItHub offered to unhide the ticket during our exchange with them.

@tobigr That sound like a logical explanation. I may have gotten unlucky with the support agent I ran into then.

Will try that again depending on what response I'll get to this feature request (given this support agent explicitly asked me to make a feature request)

@SylvieLorxu
Might be a good moment to think about switching from GitHub to something like codeberg or similar. 😉

@kranzkrone never underestimate the lock-in effect of the integrated CI 😢 Makes migration a lot harder (Github actions cannot simply be "copied" to Woodpecker, and unfortunately there's no migration tool for this – at least not to my knowledge) @SylvieLorxu
