I want an app that can post to Mastodon, Friendica, Diaspora and Bluesky all at once. That's going to 3 protocols (ActivityPub, AT, Diaspora), can it be done? Having to copy and paste to different apps is kinda clunky.

@TotalSonic There is it, it's called Openvibe, however it doesn't support Diaspora

@alfredon996 - thanks, will see if I can find it and will check it out if I can

@alfredon996 ok, found it on the Google PlayStore, but seems it has 3 embedded trackers in it :(

@TotalSonic That's unfortunate, but since you're using Friendica have you tried to connect it to your Bsky account ? Friendica is also compatible with Diaspora natively

@alfredon996 - yes, I have my Friendica and Mastodon connected (at least I tried to), and I have my Mastodon and Bkuesky bridged, but it still isn't really doing seamless in cross posting. It might be user error on my part though. Btw - I tried to install that app anyway, but it requires Google Play Services, which I have deliberately kept off of my Android install. Thank you for your help anyway!

@Total Sonic Media That's doable.

  • Create a Friendica account if you don't have one. Friendica can connect to itself, to Mastodon, to Pixelfed, to everything else that uses ActivityPub and to diaspora*. And it can integrate a Bluesky account for bidirectional federation without needing a bridge.
  • Whomever you follow on Mastodon now, follow all of them from Friendica.
  • Whomever you're connected to on diaspora* now, connect to all of them from Friendica.
  • Register a Bluesky account if you don't have one. No, sorry, you'll need one if you don't want to use the Bridgy Fed bridge.
  • Integrate your Bluesky account into your Friendica account.
  • If you have an Android phone, install RaccoonForFriendica or Friendiqa or DiCa on it and connect your Friendica account to it.

This gives you a timeline that's unified not in your app, but on the server side already. And you don't cross-post to Friendica, Mastodon, everything else that uses ActivityPub, diaspora* and Bluesky, but you send one and the same post to Friendica, Mastodon, diaspora* and Bluesky, and you get one and the same comment thread from everywhere instead of four separate comment threads.

Potential downsides:

  • You will have to set all of this up on Friendica's Web interface in a browser. Sorry if you're only ever on a phone.
  • I don't know how many and which Friendica nodes are defederated by Threads. It's likely that Friendica nodes don't comply with Meta's federation requirements.
  • There is no stable-release iOS app for Friendica. If you have an iPhone, you'll have to make do with an app made for Mastodon which only supports 10-20% of Friendica's features.

@TotalSonic With a Friendica account you are automatically connected to Mastodon and Diaspora. You can also communicate with if you activate the connector.
I can only find a German guide about the at the moment: Verbindung mit Bluesky herstellen

Addition: the instance must also have the connector for Bluesky activated, not all of them do. You may need to take this into account when selecting an instance.
It is displayed when you click on the ‘i’ on the start page of the instance for information about the instance (addons, blocked instances, imprint are displayed there)

@TotalSonic@mastodon.social It's much easier.

Friendica, Mastodon and now also Diaspora belong to the Fediverse, so they are in the same network.
Friendica and Mastodon are just different software solutions in the same network.

If you want to use Fediverse, Diaspora and Bluesky with one account, you should switch to the Friendica software solution, which can use all three networks natively

@crossgolf_rebel - I use Friendica already, will look into cross posting from it.

@TotalSonic@mastodon.social You don't have to crosspost between mastodon, Friendica, Sharkey, Pixelfed etc.
These are all services in the fediverse, if you post with one of these services, everyone in the fediverse can see it, no matter what software they use to access it.

I, for example, write to you via the account
