Looks like there is some #Tusky improvement in progress:

Btw.: Which #Android version are you using?

@nick I hear that song for quite some time now ...
Föderation DE Di 17.09.2024 19:22:53
We will see...
I have the feeling, (in)stability could also be connected to the used version of #Android...

@nick Android 14? The app is the only one that shows this behaviour. Throuout 13 and 14, Miui and now Hyper OS. Strange ...

@andreas_heitmann @nick In what way is #tusky better than #pachli ? Last time i tried Tusky it was definitely the other way around. For me.
Föderation EN Di 17.09.2024 20:44:37
@kallekn @nick In many ways both Apps are equal.
What is annoying to me at the moment is that to get to the latest toots you have to use the menu on the top right. Tapping twice on the top da sind always work. So the usability is not as fluent es ist with #tusly.
There still is room for improvement ...
I am using #pachli now occasionally for a few weeks.

@andreas_heitmann @nick Testing Tusky now. Still prefer Pachli. And Tusky still has no reverse timeline.

@andreas_heitmann @kallekn @nick Yes. Tapping the tab title loads the next newest "page" of posts, typically 40 posts.
If there are more than 40 new posts you tap multiple times to page up through them.
Using the tap to jump to the very newest posts is dangerous, as one misplaced tap could completely lose your place in the feed.

@nikclayton @kallekn @nick Hmm, I understand. But how about tapping twice on the main icon below leads to the newest entry? ...

@andreas_heitmann @kallekn @nick Tricky with Android as it stands (the Android tab layout doesn't recognise a double tap gesture).
I might make this an option in the preferences so the user can choose what single-tapping a tab does.

@andreas_heitmann @kallekn @nick https://github.com/pachli/pachli-android/issues/939
Candidate for version 2.8.2, released the week after next.

@nikclayton @andreas_heitmann @nick I only recently discovered you can tap the tab to go one page down (or up, for most users) in the timeline. Nice feature. I won't be needing the second option, but others may.
Will you have a look at why one easily keeps losing one's place in the reverse timeline, when you have some time over? (Whenever that might be...)

@kallekn @andreas_heitmann @nick Reading position issue is probably fixed with https://github.com/pachli/pachli-android/pull/941

@nikclayton I'll test and report!
