I am very curious though: What data is used to place the items on the map? Will you finally start using geotag metadata from uploads? And/or allow location to be set with specific coordinates?

The current situation for assigning vague/arbitrary/ambiguous place names has left me wanting for more, for several reasons.

@dansup @pixelfed is this something you'll have to explicitly enable (disabled by default)? I recall Instagram ditching it entirely for safety reasons
